Zola — Triple Disc Raffia Earrings
Zola — a Zulu name meaning "calm".
Three coiled discs, stacked small to large, each one spiralled by hand from a single length of raffia. The scale is deliberate: this is the largest piece in the range, and it moves when you do. These hand-woven raffia statement earrings are finished with hypoallergenic stainless steel ear wires and weigh almost nothing for their size.
Materials: Natural hand-dyed raffia, stainless steel ear wires
Design: Three graduated coiled discs, small to large
Origin: Handcrafted in Nigeria
Editions
- Hibiscus Fuchsia — a saturated pink that holds its own against print
- Terracotta Ember — warm burnt orange, the quietest of the set
- Cinnabar Red — a warm brick red, closer to earth than to scarlet
- Emerald — a deep bottle green, cool against warm skin
- Raspberry Pink — a saturated berry, more fruit than flower
- Royal Violet — a dense violet that reads almost black in low light
- Plum — deep aubergine, the darkest of the purples
- Charcoal — soft black with a graphite sheen
- Saffron Gold — a mustard yellow that reads as metal from a distance
Care
Keep dry. Raffia is a plant fibre — water, perfume and hairspray will dull the colour. Store flat or hanging, not crushed at the bottom of a bag. If a piece flattens, press it gently back into shape with your fingers; the fibre has memory.
Coiled by hand, so no two discs spiral exactly alike.

Adire is hand-dyed cotton. It softens with wear and may relax slightly after the first washes.
Care
Hand-wash cold with mild soap. No tumble-dry. Iron inside-out on medium heat. Expect slight dye release during the first washes, a natural characteristic of hand-dyed textiles that stabilizes with use.
